CTPA's annual Toast to Success event is back again this year — virtually! Join us from the comfort of your own home on Saturday, August 28th, for an afternoon of inspiration, celebration and networking. This event will include opportunities to expand your horizons and celebrate the inspiring achievements of professionals in our community. We are proud to continue our awards component, recognizing the achievements of two outstanding professionals within the Tamil community.

Our esteemed guest this year is a cognitive scientist who served as a Senior Advisor in the Obama White House, where she founded and served as Chair of the White House Behavioral Science Team — Dr. Maya Shankar.

She also served as the first Behavioral Science Advisor to the United Nations under Ban Ki-moon, and was a core member of Pete Buttigieg’s debate preparation team during his presidential run. Maya has a postdoctoral fellowship in cognitive neuroscience at Stanford, a Ph.D. from Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship, and a B.A. from Yale. Maya is currently a Senior Director of Behavioral Economics at Google and the host of “A Slight Change of Plans,” a podcast about how we navigate change, produced by Jacob Weiss and Malcolm Gladwell’s audio company, Pushkin Industries.

Our conversation with Maya (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM) is free to attend. The structured networking sessions (10:30 AM- 11:30 AM and 1:30-2:00 PM) will be a great opportunity to meet professionals within your industry and to expand your network! Tickets can now be purchased for $20 for the networking session, but bring a friend and you both save $5 each on your tickets. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
